Oak Brook is a suburb of
Chicago. The village is located approximately 19 miles west of the Chicago
Loop. Oak Brook was incorporated in 1958 as a village. Oak Brook
primarily consists of residential subdivisions except for the Oak Brook Center
Mall and other retail and commercial properties along the 22nd St
and I88 corridor.
Oak Brook is the home of Graue Mill and Museum. Graue Mill is the only waterwheel gristmill in Illinois that is in operation. This is a great place to hike or walk your dog or kayak in Salt Creek.
Many corporations have headquarters or large operations in Oakbrook such as Hub Insurance Group, Ace Hardware & Crowe accounting services, and Portillo’s.
Oakbrook has excellent schools and has the Butler National Golf Club and a Polo Club. It also has excellent recreational facilities for its citizens.
